Obedience Dog Training
One of Dog Training Elite’s most popular dog training services is to teach basic dog obedience training in Central Mass. This includes both in-home dog training sessions and group classes for a more advanced approach.
We use positive dog training, based on the classical conditioning theory, paired with an electronic collar-- this is not a shock collar. Unlike a shock collar, an electronic collar does not hurt or harm the dog and is used to obtain a dog's attention. We believe in using ongoing praise to encourage good behavior.

SERVICE DOG TRAINING
The Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) defines a service dog as “a dog that is individually trained to do work or perform tasks for a person with a disability.” Disabilities include mental or physical impairments that affect an individual’s ability to perform one or more major life activities. PUPPY TRAINING
Getting a new puppy can be an exciting adventure, especially for new puppy owners. The love and joy a dog can bring are genuinely impressive. Dogs become such an integral part of the family. ANXIETY & AGGRESSION DOG TRAINING
One of the most difficult, necessary, and rewarding behaviors to correct in a dog is anxiety and aggression. Anxiety and aggression are behaviors that can be learned, genetic, or innate. When a dog feels threatened, the two natural responses will be fight or flight. Most dogs will attempt to put as much distance between themselves and the threat; if the threat remains, they will then turn to aggression or submit. Other dogs are overly confident pack leaders and will turn first to aggression. Both of these reactions stem from anxiety and can be fixed with a balanced, positive, aggressive dog training in Worcester.
Our behavior modification process is highly personalized. MILITARY / VETERAN SERVICE DOG TRAINING
Dog Training Elite of Central Mass believes so strongly in the healing power of service dogs for retired military veterans that we have created "The Malinois Foundation". We donate our time and passion to veteran service dog training in Worcester / Fitchburg for the foundation.
Service dogs can help ease both mental and physical impairments attained through a veteran’s service to our country. Many veterans suffer from PTSD, physical disabilities, and a variety of other handicaps, and service dogs have been proven to lessen symptoms and assist in integrating veterans back into normal routines as much as possible.
THERAPY DOG TRAINING
A therapy dog is a dog that performs a service for other people. Typical therapy dog tasks are going to nursing homes or hospitals to cheer people up. For your dog to qualify, he/she must be friendly with strangers, and with training, be able to work around a high level of distraction and to understand personal boundaries, such as not jumping up, licking, mouthing, etc.
Research shows that therapy dogs can have a positive effect on a patient’s mood, stress, and pain levels during facility stays. Children, in particular, respond positively to therapy dogs. They are more motivated to participate in treatments, feel optimistic about the future, and experience an overall sense of calm when a certified therapy dog is present.
Therapy dogs can promote social interaction between individuals within communities that may not otherwise experience socialization typically. Classical Conditioning - What Does That Mean?
We base our training around the "Classical Conditioning" model (a.k.a. "Pavlovian" or "respondent conditioning"). This includes developing conditioned or automatic reflexes to commands. In its simplest form (after proper conditioning), when the owner says "sit," the dog automatically sits without thinking about it. Our unique techniques ensure our program is a success no matter what behavior we encounter.
